Who Are we?

Are our megaphones spotlights for the injustices? Or are our megaphones the distractions that keep us marching in lines chanting to the same beat as the injustices we seek to beat?

We have become so used to thinking of domestic politics in terms of party politics that we are inclined to forget that the conflict between [the party system and the council system] has always been a conflict between parliament, the source and seat of power of the party system, and the people, who have surrendered their power to their representatives.
— Hannah Arendt, On Revolution

Are we humans the culprits, the antagonist and protagonist at the same time? As we witness the crumbling of our crucial life systems, will we continue to enjoy the mindlessness of consumerism? The city sized boats, the fancy extracted jewelries, the luxurious adventuring to far of untouched land … why is that we can’t build those peaceful spaces in the spaces we call home now? We’ve polluted our waters across most lands, flattened the mountains in the flooded Appalachian towns and riddled the secluded islands with bombs and explosions to test the monstrosity of the tiny molecules on our planet. From life they birth and to life they destroy.

So maybe it is not our megaphones, our politicians or even the religious texts that steer our visions of the limitless. Maybe it is just us. Our thoughts, our emotions, our lack of effort to change that which is broken? We’re told to march in line, check yes or no, red or blue, if we choose another we’re shunned from both of those others, so maybe then it is just us. Continuously stepping in line versus finding another line. Is it the system that keeps us in line, brainwashed and programmed to work hard so we can enjoy an over priced steak with a over priced cheesy scripted production we’re told is “innovative and family friendly?” Or do we deep down inside know better, but we’re afraid to step out of line?

History books, war endings, the programming of television lies that play pretending…it’s all us. Yet, this story of today…this is the only us we can change. A vibration of our collective ambitions, that creates the rhythm of this fast pace. We can change, if only we all step out of line and beat a new rhythm. Instead we go planning and fluctuating with the politicians changing. If only we saw, we are the ones that need changing and it only takes a moment to realize it is our thinking that needs changing.

See the limitless possibilities…the ones we use today, and the endless amounts of innovation that are still yet to come after today…the planet is filled with passions and hopes and dreams and plenty. We’re raising another generation on “fighting” “standing” and “raising their voices,” but really there are many generations who never learned to raise their fists, it’s no wonder they never learned to raise their voices, but they’ll chant on another.

What is a revolution if it isn’t in the hearts and minds of all men? Can we see an unpeaceful divide unite peaceful from all sides, under a stance of “loving our planet?”

Step out of line. <3
